Neural Nexus: Bridging the Gap Between Art and Science
“Neural Nexus: Bridging the Gap Between Art and Science” is a project that explores the connection of both science and art in my mind. This illustration was completed for a class in which I was tasked with emulating the style of another artist while illustrating a concept personal to me. The artist I chose is named Davide Bonazzi. His illustrations show scientific topics in unique ways such as a larger-than-life brain or people walking on a strand of DNA. I love the way he uses texture and grain in his pieces. He is great at storytelling through his conceptual images. I am interested in Medical Illustration or going to medical school and using my creative side in that field as well. A large part of medical illustration and art in general is about how art can communicate concepts. Davide can present complex scientific ideas through simple illustrations. His color schemes work well together in the illustrations with a lot of blue, green, yellow, and red hues. My illustration shows a larger-than-life brain as the subject and two doors within: one opening to a science lab and the other to an art studio symbolizing that I have knowledge of both areas but they are both different and unique.
Thank you for viewing my work!
